10 potential picks for Red Wings in second round - mlive.com
“You’re not going to hit on every pick every year, obviously. You’re not going to hit on your first pick every year, as much work as we do on it. It’s imperative, (finding players in later rounds) speeds the process up. You look at our team with Tyler Bertuzzi, a second-round pick, Filip Hronek, a second-round pick, guys that are really having an impact. We’ll definitely need those (later-round picks) to turn into players and that’s why having more picks increases the odds of more of them becoming players.”

We’ll have draft profiles here when we get closer to the draft. In the meantime, here are some players that Ansar thinks Detroit should be looking at.

Around the NHL

Behind the scenes with a 2020 NHL playoff soundboard operator
Tuch didn't acknowledge the crowd as he celebrated because there was no crowd to acknowledge. The stands in the arena in Edmonton, Alberta, were empty, as they've been for every game of the NHL's restarted season in two Canadian hub cities. The cheering he heard in the arena -- and that fans heard as they watched the broadcast -- was synthetically created by computer software, a mixing board and a man whose task it is to make playoff hockey feel as normal as possible under the most abnormal of circumstances.

There have definitely been some growing pains (which are discussed in the article), but I think overall, they’ve done a very good job with the fake crowd noise. It’s really interesting to see how they do it.

Rod Brind’Amour was fined $25k for his comments about one of Boston’s goals. He was 100% correct, and this is just another case of an egregious officiating mistake affecting the outcome of a game.
