Detroit Red Wings await start of 2021 season as clock runs on Jan. 1
The Detroit Pistons have an exhibition game scheduled for next week at Little Caesars Arena, as the NBA is forging ahead amid surging COVID-19 numbers.

Which beckons the question: When are we going to see the Detroit Red Wings in action again?

I was going to use the article from The Detroit News about the 20 questions for the Red Wings, but it’s behind a paywall.

I know that the talk about when the season will start is a little repetitive, but right now that’s  what hockey stories are dominated by now.

After all, everything else depends on when (and if?) the season starts.

NHL players share incredible photos of pickup hockey played on mountain
A handful of NHL players -- Vancouver Canucks forwards Elias Pettersson and Zack MacEwen, defenseman Alexander Edler and goalie Thatcher Demko, Detroit Red Wings defenseman Troy Stecher, and free agent defenseman Jason Garrison -- took a journey up a mountain about 60 miles north of Rogers Arena for a quick pickup game.

Like I said above, a lot of hockey articles are about the season starting date. I thought this was a neat divergence from all of those. What a setting for hockey!
