Revisiting the Emotions of Walman’s Trade
Max Bultman has a column out this morning that certainly tugs at the heartstrings… Max tells the story of how Jake Walman found out about his trade to San Jose, and the rush of emotions he felt. Walman said he was shocked, and convinced that he would be in Detroit for a long time. To this day the trade still makes no sense, and it’s pretty clear the Wings could use Walman in their lineup. Read at your own caution.
Starting today, Bally Sports Detroit is no more. The RSN will now go by “FanDuel Sports Network.” Not much will change, mostly just aesthetics. I only hope that this means we will get new broadcast graphics and a better score bug.
Detroit is off until tomorrow, when they head to New York to play the Islanders.

Big Week for National Broadcast
The NHL will have 15 games nationally broadcast this week. The Red Wings are included in one of them — Saturday’s game against Buffalo. That’s an early start, so plan your Saturday accordingly.
