Red Wings Rumblings

Skellefteå AIK did it. They won the SHL. Quite the postseason for ASP – seven points (2-5–7) in 14 games. That’s in addition to all of his brilliant performances in the WJC and International-Jr.

Meanwhile, other Red Wings prospects are in postseason action today.

Fire up the Stamkos Rumor Frenzy

We’ve been here before, and now we’re back. It’s widely expected that Steven Stamkos has played his last game in Tampa Bay. The connections don’t need much explaining given Steve Yzerman’s previous job. Stamkos has said that he “would love” to finish out his career with the Lightning, but noted it’s not his all his decision. Now that Tampa is out of the playoffs, the rumors are going to be LIT.

Penguins add a familiar face

Remember this guy? The 25-year-old netminder and former Wings prospect Filip Larsson is now with the Penguins on a two-year deal after a strong showing in the SHL: 19-9-0 record, 1.93 GAA and a .920 save percentage.

Leafs stay alive

Even without their prolific scorer in Auston Matthews, the Maple Leafs are taking this 3-2 series back to Toronto after an OT win in Boston last night.

Colorado also advanced last night with a win over Winnipeg.. and a second-round matchup between the Rangers and Hurricanes has been set.
