Safe to say that we are in a bit of a drought for Red Wings news, but what might interest most fans is what Ken Holland is up to.

The Edmonton Oilers have a pretty solid core of players up front, but that backend is still in progress, I guess you could say. Ken Holland managed to lock up a key part of that core in Darnell Nurse who is a pretty good player to an 8-year deal.

The real kicker here for this deal is that it’s believed the AAV will be around $9.25m. I don’t know, just seems a little steep. Oh but Kenny can’t stop there. Let’s sweeten it up:
