Some (more) controversy surrounding Pavel Datsyuk to talk about.. The Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) is blasting the Hockey Hall of Fame and calling for his disqualification to be a hall-of-famer. At issue, is Datsyuk’s alleged attendance of a tournament that was dedicated to the memory of two who were apparently killed in Russia war against Ukraine.
Whatever stance you want to take here (and I respectfully don’t care to hear about it), the Hall of Fame says they do not consider candidate’s nationality or country of origin when considering inductees. So, Datsyuk is going to the Hall of Fame… But you can probably expect to hear more about this in the months ahead.
Alex Lyon recently joined the InGoal Radio Podcast to talk about, well, goaltending! It’s pretty interesting to hear him break down a play. Lots of insight on his processes when the other team is rushing into a scoring chance.

The Pittsburgh Penguins and Winnipeg Jets completed a trade yesterday that had the whole hockey world buzzing… and it was literally just a swap of prospects. A one-for-one trade involving Brayden Yager and Rutger McGroarty. McGroarty wasn’t going to sign with Winnipeg, which explains why the trade was made. The 20-year-old signed his ELC, meaning he won’t be returning to the University of Michigan for another year. I think the trade is the best case scenario for Winnipeg.. They get a prospect who is a year younger, and won’t have to deal with him not wanting to play there.. At least for now.

The Hughes brothers are front-and-center for the next edition of EA Sports’ NHL franchise.
Good for them. Great hockey family, great players… Still won’t be buying this game. Haven’t bought it since 2015. I stick with what I can get for free on GamePass. Just not worth the money to me, but I know a lot of people are excited for this.
