Red Wings Rumblings

Head coach Derek Lalonde is vying to get a special pep-talk for his team.. From one of the best in the business:

If you’re a Detroit sports fan, you’ve seen the way Lions head coach Dan Campbell has controlled the fire & fury of his players with his locker room antics. I would LOVE to see video of Campbell firing up the Wings. There’s also this — Every time the Wings have hosted a player or coach from the Lions, the offense has exploded and it resulted in a win. Let’s get this done, coach!

Big game set for Thursday

The New York Islanders have started to heat up ahead of their clash with the Wings at LCA Thursday night. Like Tuesday night’s all-out ass-whooping against Washington, this game against NYI has a playoff theme. Detroit is on a six-game win streak.. Can they make it seven?

Pettersson Rumors Swirling

Elliotte Friedman says that he believes teams are calling Vancouver about 25-year-old Swedish phenom Elias Pettersson. The Canucks first priority is to get him signed long-term, but the rumors of a trade just won’t go away no matter how hard the team tries to control the narrative.

I doubt Pettersson is traded this season, if at all. Now, Vancouver opened up and started to listen to offers… The price will be steep, as it should be. Looking for a comparable deal? Probably similar to what Vegas had to pay to get Jack Eichel: Peyton Krebs, Alex Tuch, a 1st and 2nd round pick.

And yes, I do believe that Detroit was one of the teams that put a call into Vancouver.

Fighting into the spotlight

Matt Rempe, a 2020 6th-round pick for the New York Rangers, has been thrusted into the NHL spotlight for his fisticuffs with other players. He’s already got 32 penalty minutes in just five games.

Good for him to get his name recognized, but just my opinion here, I’m having a tough time celebrating a 21-year-old get his head bashed every night. It’s all fun now, but how long can this actually go on before a serious injury?
