Red Wings Rumblings
Happy Monday to all who celebrate! The Red Wings will be splitting up the squad tonight between home and Buffalo after Saturday’s game with Pittsburgh at LCA was postponed due to travel issues for the Penguins. Both games have puck drop scheduled for 7 PM ET.
Max Bultman checks in on some preseason stock. Marco Kasper was given a “stock up” after his early impressions in preseason. Kasper has shown a lot of growth, and we’re starting to see more of his skill with each passing game. It might be a long shot that he makes the opening night roster, but he’s making a case for himself to be near the front of the line when a call-up is needed.
Bultman also has the Rasmussen-Copp-Fischer line as a “stock up” as the team’s matchup line. Tough to say what the trajectory for this line is since we’ve only played (and beat) the Blackhawks twice so far in preseason.
Bultman seems less bullish on the goaltending situation. There’s plenty of confidence in goalies like Alex Lyon and Cam Talbot, but what remains to be seen is how Ville Husso will fare this season. It’s less than ideal that the Wings are carrying so many goalies, and will likely have three on the opening night roster.
Fans of “Letterkenny” and “Shoresy” will get to see some the show’s stars hit the ice against Detroit Red Wings alumni this fall. The “Shoresy Fall Classic” will happen at LCA on Monday, November 11. Should be a fun event to check out.

Patrik Laine’s time in Montreal is already off to a rough start. The newly-acquired winger went down in a preseason game after taking a nasty hit to his knee:
Looks like a season-ending injury to me, but we’ll see as time goes by. Tough luck for Laine.
