With the prospects tourney still a week away, we’re kind of skimming for stuff here, but it is interesting to see the linkage between the Wings and Saginaw here. It’s not that there’s anything wrong with Detroit drafting from a team partially owned by front office personnel but the list of fomer Spirit players the Wings have drafted isn’t all that confidence-inspiring (outside of Hronek, of course).

Honestly this makes me miss the days of Neon Deion and Bo Jackson playing two pro sports because that was always fun; unfortunately the landscape has changed so that no league is going to allow players to do that anymore (and even if they did, this Jalen Ramsey story doesn’t touch particularly close to the reality of two professional-level athletes who grew up playing multiple sports at a high level).

Basically, what I’d like to see most of all is Jalen Ramsey actually try to prove this and I’m just kinda bummed out that it’s not realistic because it would be entertaining as hell to watch.
