Red Wings Rumblings
Happy Victory Monday to all who celebrate! The Red Wings are the hottest team in the NHL right now after achieving their seventh consecutive win over Seattle on Sunday afternoon. This is the longest win streak the Wings have had in 13 years! Hard to believe that just a month ago this team was a dead in the basement with no real direction. I’m not saying the Kraken are a hard team to beat, but the Wings have seven players with multi-point games and six different goal scorers in this win. That’s impressive no matter who you’re playing.
Might be a bit of old news at this point, but Elliotte Friedman expanded on his report that Detroit was/is interested in Buffalo centerman Dylan Cozens — according to Friedge a trade between the two division rivals was very close around the time of the roster freeze. Friedman says he doesn’t know where both sides stand at this point. I’m not saying it’s something, but it’s worth keeping an eye on.
Hey, check out this incredible shorthanded effort from Wings prospect Dylan James over the weekend:

The Grand Rapids Griffins lost both of their games over the weekend and are sitting at second place in the AHL’s Central Division. Seems the offense has dried up for the Griffins — just four goals in the last four games.
The Toledo Walleye had a quiet weekend with just one game — a loss against Bloomington at home Friday night. The team will be back in action on Friday in Fort Wayne. The Walleye are having themselves a great season. Currently second place in the ECHL, only team ahead of them are the Wheeling Nailers.
