This news got shared in the comments of yesterday’s QH with a TSN link, but I like the lead-in to this writeup as well. I’d be willing to gamble that people showing up to the home opener aren’t going to get home exactly on time because of a pregame ceremony involving Larkin.

“A letter is a letter, but being a captain of a franchise like the Detroit Red Wings would mean a lot to me. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn’t, I still get to play for the Detroit Red Wings, I get to play in the NHL and I’m going to try to play my best.”
