Holland: Mike Babcock extension unlikely before season | Detroit Free Press
He is not going to sign an extension until the end of the season. There is no need for him to sign one now. If he wants to stay, he knows that the Wings will satisfy his demands, and if he wants to leave, then he will leave.

Pass or Fail: Stanley Cup Playoffs play-in game, like in MLB | Puck Daddy
To me, it's a clear "fail". Part of the difference between the NHL and MLB postseason's is that in the NHL, the majority of the teams actually make the playoffs. Adding two more to the mix, albeit for merely one game, will make the playoff's easier to reach. Despite this, the NHL may consider implementing it, purely because of the amount of money and publicity that the league could earn from the two play-in games.

NHL refutes report, says no meeting planned with IOC on Olympic participation | ProHockeyTalk
If China ends up hosting the 2022 Olympic games, the NHL would be foolish to not go there. Chinese people love football, and introducing a new, and more fast-paced sport to the Chinese people may lead to ice hockey becoming increasingly popular there. For what its worth, this exact same narrative can be applied to the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang. The bottom line is that the NHL should send its players to the Olympics.

Reducing the amount of players who dive and the extent to which they dive will take a while to materialize. These changes do not happen over night, but, the NHL's new fine system is, as Julien says, a step in the right direction.

Fan’s guide to picking an NHL team: Metropolitan | Sportsnet.ca
There is really no team in the Metropolitan that I would recommend for anyone. Maybe the Rangers or the Devils, but, why pick them when there's this great team playing in Detroit?

Embrace hockey homerism - Eyes On The Prize
I couldn't have said it better myself. As long as you are respectful towards other hockey fans and their favorite teams, then there should be no problem with you exuding pride in your favorite team.
