Red Wings 2 – Coyotes 5. Hopefully the recap is more fun than the game.

Pre-Game

Well the lines that the Red Wings posted as their projected ones were fun. The lines in warm-ups were less fun.

Speaking of that, this last recap before the Holiday Break will be a little different than usual. I wanted to do an all GIF recap, but I know how annoying that can be for some readers, so I won’t do that.

Instead I’m going to use some classic mem-eable hockey pictures to create two memes/photoshops per period, with a little text about why I used that. I will also include as many gifs of goals as I can find. I hope you like it.

Also, please read the article posted earlier about why we will be dark for a day. I am incredibly thankful to WIIM for the opportunities I have received. I am happy personally with my situation here. But, at the same time, I think that my friends and colleagues at our California sites got completely screwed over, and I think it’s important to say that.

First Period

The first half of this period I was feeling as nervous as new Coyote Taylor Hall and the Peloton commercial young woman about this game. Detroit was passing the puck to any hockey player on the ice, which is a bad idea, and Hall and Kessel on the same line is a recipe for disaster.

Keller scored to make it 1-0.

Keller scores agains to make it 2-0.

Well, at least this one is easy:

Second Period

Howard kicked a puck into his own net. That’s not a joke. That really happened. It’s 3-0

My meme for the first half of the second period is this one. Keanu is trying to tell us that no matter how bad it gets, there’s always something to look forward to.

Still 3-0

The Brian Adams song Summer of ‘69 reminds every fan in attendance what they would rather be doing than watching this game.

Third Period

Taylor Hall scored because of course he did. 4-0 Coyotes.

Filip Zadina scored!!!! 4-1!

Oh wait. Arizona scored again to make it 5-1. So this still fits.

Bertuzzi cuts the lead to 3.

5-2 we lose.

Thanks for reading. Again, please read why this article will be the last for a full day.

See you Tuesday!
