None of these names are surprising, as the juniors kids are now going to be better served returning to their respective clubs to continue their development while the camp invitees who didn’t make a big enough splash can be free to find their own way. I really feel bad for Jerome Verrier here, who suffered a broken leg in a Friday collision with Darren Helm, ending his camp immediately.

The camp invitees who were released are free to go on to sign with any other NHL team

The remaining camp invitees still on the roster are almost all Griffins/Walleye players with the exception of Joel Rechlicz. I have a feeling Rechlicz may stick around for a bit as a preseason enforcer and it’s entirely possible he gets offered a job punching faces for the Griffins this season. The remaining invitees are forwards Mark Zengerle, Jeff Hoggan, and Kurt Etchegary; along with defensemen Nathan Paetsch, Jared Nightingale, Andrew Prochno, and Scott Czarnowczan.

We’ll know more about what the rosters will look like for preseason games after today’s Red & White Scrimmage. Stay tuned for more coverage from the WIIM crew!
