Keys to the Game
1. Score Goals
It’s been a year since Detroit scored more than one goal in a game. It’s hard to win games when you don’t score a few goals.
2. Don’t Let in Goals
By the same token, it’s also been a year since Detroit allowed any goals in a game. Keeping that up will help!
(I don’t know what the heck I was thinking above)
Detroit has also not let in fewer than 4 goals in a year. That really needs to change!
3. Put Some Power Back in the Power Play
Detroit’s 5.4 power play goals per 60 minutes is the 6th lowest in the league. They’re generating the second worst rate of unblocked shots per 60 on the power play. These numbers are likely not a surprise to people who have been watching the team, but yeah, the power play is terrible.
