Red Wings at Lightning 2nd Period Thread

20 minutes in the books in Tampa and we’re tied 1-1. Tampa ran the opening parts of the period, but the Eurotwins line got a setup in the zone and a smart patient play by Kyle Quincey gave Pavel Datsyuk a shot to tip past Bishop. After that, the Wings seemed to settle down and they even earned the first power play of the night. Unfortunately, a mishandle by Marek Zidlicky gave Brian Boyle a shorthanded breakaway that he finished.

Things calmed a bit after that, but Detroit got another power play off a great scoring chance for Anton Stralman that Mrazek stopped just before being bowled over by the Tampa defender. Detroit will have about 90 seconds of power play time to start the 2nd. Need to make it count.
