The Red Wings acquired Joe Hicketts as a free agent after he went undrafted. Hicketts went on to be one of the top-scoring defensemen in the WHL with the Victoria Royals. He’ll spend one final season in the WHL before making his jump to pro hockey. Good chance we see him if Victoria doesn’t make the playoffs, and Grand Rapids does.
