Quick Hits: The Throwback Edition
In Red Wings Land
Sports TV using nostalgia to get through coronavirus; Fox Sports Detroit no exception | Freep
Then at 10 p.m. Saturday night, we’ll see the Detroit Red Wings’ 2019 season opener at Nashville. So far, two more Wings games are scheduled: the home opener against Dallas to be shown at 7 p.m. Tuesday and at home against Winnipeg at 8 p.m. March 31.
FSD should alternate nights running games from the 2003-04 Pistons, 2006 Tigers, and the 2007-08 Red Wings. Those are the throwback seasons I’d want to re-watch.

Top 31 prospects eligible for 2020 NHL Draft | NHL.com
Alexis Lafreniere remains No. 1 in the NHL.com ranking of the top 31 prospects eligible for the 2020 NHL Draft.
The Rimouski left wing led the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with 112 points (35 goals, 77 assists) in 52 games. He had 30 multipoint games, including seven points (one goal, six assists) against Quebec on Feb. 16. He’s No. 1 in NHL Central Scouting’s midterm list of North American skaters eligible for the 2020 draft.
The Wings will eventually get to draft Lafreniere or one of the other players at the top of this list.
NHL Seattle considering nickname, ticket plans amid coronavirus outbreak | ESPN
Seattle’s NHL expansion franchise has not ruled out unveiling its highly anticipated name and logo while many of its fans are social distancing and self-quarantined due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Discussing and debating Seattle’s team name would be a decent distraction from all the COVID-19 news.
I still prefer the Seattle Sockeye(s).
