Lorito is a depth signing. He spent last season with the Albany Devils in the AHL. Here's a look at his stats:
It appears that Lorito will be a guy who will spend his time in Grand Rapids, potentially replacing an offensive player like Andy Miele, who has yet to re-sign. It's not a big signing, but the Red Wings have done a lot of work bolstering the depth in Grand Rapids. Lorito is a guy they can keep in the ranks as a potential emergency guy if they ever need a dependable call-up, but it's unlikely he'll ever see time with the Red Wings seeing that there are so many prospects above him on the depth chart.
