Keys to the Game
1. Do It Again
The Wings had one of their best performances of the season on Thursday night. They looked like a team we’ve rarely seem glimpses of this season. They beat Chicago up and down the ice. They are also riding their first 3 game winning streak of the season. What separates the good teams from the bad is not showing flashes of this type of performance, but doing it consistently. Games like that show what this team can be, but they need to show today that they can do it again.
2. Let the Young Guns Run
That was fun seeing some end to end offense and full throttle attack coming from the Wings last game. With the injection of some younger guys following the trade deadline, the Wings are becoming a roster lacking experience. But what they do have is a bunch of young guys out to prove they deserve a spot. Jeff, please let the team run loose a little and let’s see what they can do.
3. Let The Hate Flow Through You
You’re playing this team AGAIN. Eight times on the season. They’re one of your oldest rivals. Although many of the faces associated with those battles when they last really mattered are gone, playing a team this often has to generate some friction and hate. You get one last shot at them, make it count. Embrace who the fans want you to be and get some real animosity coming into tonight and let’s see if that generates some fireworks. Give the fans what they want and maybe stick a dagger in the Hawks fading playoff hopes.
