Players to Watch:
For Detroit:
Tomas Jurco will be playing with Tomas Tatar, and Brad Richards. That line was potent during camp, and exhibition. The 2nd and 3rd lines need to have big games tonight.
For Carolina:
The Canes' lineup is a bit different than the last time we saw it. Andrej Nestrasil will be playing 2nd line wing. He's good, but I'm not sure how he matches up against that level of competition. I think all three players on the Canes' 3rd line will be worth keeping an eye on. A lot of talent, and scoring abilities there.
Key Match-ups:
This will be a top-six trench war, I think. The Red Wings have leaned on their first line through the first three games, and will likely continue doing so. The Canes will be rolling out recent call-up Brock McGinn on their first line. Admittedly, I don't know much about this player but nevertheless, it will be his first career NHL game.
The biggest thing is to not come out like you did when we played Carolina last time. They essentially skated circles around us, and throttled our puck possession. You cannot sustainably win games that way, so the Red Wings need to come out like a bat outta hell and show this Carolina team that wasn't the real Red Wings.
Again, we draw Cam Ward in net. We know the story with him last game. He's not a good goalie, and can get rattled extremely easily. Stay out of the penalty box, and throw the puck at the net as much as humanly possible. The Wings had a strong game against Tampa. They're well-rested for tonight and are looking at a back-to-back this weekend.
Reminder for those going to the game tonight! It's Breast Cancer Awareness Night!
