Either somebody is hurt or they’re going back to 12-6 today. Troy Stecher skated with Alex Biega at practice yesterday so if one defenseman is coming out of the lineup, I’m guessing it’s the goal-scorer.

Keys to the Game
Keep the Structure
I don’t like harping on a fun game and I’m never going to complain about a win, but Detroit isn’t going to rely on dropping five against Curtis McElhinney and then trying to coast. Limiting Carolina’s speed, keeping them to the outside, and clearing the crease are going to be focus areas if the Wings want to keep building on the last couple games.
Special Teams
Carolina has the best PP in the league and the 10th best PK. Maybe tranquilize the refs or something?
Work for Each Other
I don’t really have a way to quantify this, but it just feels like the team has started to gel recently and I like that. Suddenly they have a better sense for where their teammates are and what they’re doing and so they’re completing more passes. I like that!
