What a time to be in Toronto, eh?
The NHL announced Friday that due to the MLB Postseason, Monday’s Red Wings vs Toronto Maple Leafs game at Scotiabank Arena will move from 4 PM ET to 2 PM ET. Game Two of the MLB ALCS is being hosted at Rogers Centre that same Monday. Cool thing for those of our readers attending on Monday: Following Wings vs Leafs, fans can stick around in their seats and watch Game Two of the ALCS on the big screen.
Opening night did not go so well for the Red Wings. John Gibson’s debut in Detroit was soured, and Travis Hamonic showed fans that he is… well, he is a guy.
Max Bultman reported from practice Friday the lines and pairs. Here’s what it looks like:
We’ll have to wait and see about James van Riemsdyk. He’ll understandably need some time to get up to speed. JBD should have played opening night and Travis Hamonic shouldn’t even be here (my opinion!!!!). Cam Talbot will get the start for Detroit, per Bultman. This is a Maple Leafs team that handled the same Montreal Canadiens that dropped a five-burger on the Wings. At LCA no less!
It’s gonna be a tough game. Hope Todd McLellan got the message through.
