SB Nation NHL FanPulse results recap: contenders, pretenders, and can’t -defenders

Welcome to our latest edition of the FanPulse recap! Last time out, we looked at who everybody thought would be shuffling into and out of the playoffs from last season.  This time around, we’ve got a couple new questions to recap.

But first, in case you’ve missed the boat so far, here’s a reminder of when we introduced you to SB Nation’s FanPulse project. We asked our readers to take part in polls that would take... well... the fans’ pulse on things.

Question 1

Again, pretty hard to argue the results here. I think a lot of people expected the Sharks to drop off, but not likely to the extent we’ve seen so far.  The Bolts and Stars have also come out of the gate really slowly.

I don’t know what to tell you about the Wild. They’re a lot like the Wings in that it’s really hard to register any level of disappointment when your expectations start so low.

Question 2

So of the teams picked here, the only real strong feelings for contenders are the team that made the conference finals last season. I’m really pulling for the Coyotes to surprise the more-than-half of the people who thought they’re pretenders.

We’ll be getting out our next round of questions to folks soon to keep the project going all season. If you’re interested in taking part of the voting, you can sign up here:
