Never before has a league advanced from crowning a champion through the biggest moments of the offseason. Just a few weeks after the Tampa Bay Lightning won the Stanley Cup, the NHL has already hosted the 2020 Draft and gone through the first wave of free agency.
For the Red Wings, things appear to be headed in the right direction, at least according to the fan base. When asked to grade the Wings’ 2020 draft class, a majority of fans gave the team a “B” with slightly fewer giving an “A.”
Things got even better with the start of free agency. Nearly all of the Red Wings fans who responded said they are happy with what the team has done so far.
Between trades and continued free agency moves, there is still time for something big to happen during the offseason. That is especially true with the unclear nature of the 2021 season.
