We Lost, and That Sucks. Habs 4 Red Wings 1

After coming off an absolutely dominating performance against arguably one of the NHL’s best teams, the Detroit Red Wings came in to tonight’s game with their tail in between their legs. There’s not much to say about this game, folks. Detroit just couldn’t do the job. I love this team a lot, but there isn’t much to say. Riley Sheahan possessed the lone goal against

1st Period: It was not that good. Shots were 7-6 in favor of Detroit. Seems like both teams were a bit sluggish. Jimmy Howard and Dustin Tokarski made some pretty nice saves to keep their teams knotted at 0-0 through 20 minutes. Both power-play units looked pretty bad, as per usual. The bright spot, of course, was Luke Glendening on the PK. He made a really nice play, and almost set up a scoring chance. What a guy. I spent most of the intermission looking for my phone, because I lost it. It was under my MacBook. I feel like a dummy! *pours a Jameson and ginger ale*

2nd Period: Detroit isn’t good on the power-play, and Wikipedia says so:

That’s about all I can say. The team just didn’t have it at all. The period ended at 2-0, and the Red Wings looked like they could care less that they were behind.

3rd period: Habs locked this game by scoring a lot, even though Detroit scored once. Whatever.

So, let’s be honest.. Detroit played an absolute chickenshit game tonight. They scored on the PP, but they scored when it mattered least. Riley Sheahan scored the lone goal tonight, and that is because the Red Wings refused to show up for 40 minutes of this game. I don’t really want to address how bad this game was on their end.

They outshot Montreal by ten shots. Call it luck, or whatever you want. After the last game, this is a game Detroit absolutely should have won. If you want to blame Jimmy Howard, then I want to question you. Let’s just go ahead and hope that they go in against Columbus on Tuesday with a different mindset. No more playing down to teams. No more mediocrity. The team will not survive paying like this. C’mon, fellas. It’s time to play the game.

Not much to say on my end.. Sorry, people. Please discuss.
