WIIM Announces New Griffins Coverage

For the past few years, Winging It In Motown has consistently increased the quantity and quality of the Red Wings prospect coverage, and our high quality of prospect coverage is something I take a lot of personal pride in. This season we’ll have some extra special coverage of the Grand Rapids Griffins that we’re very excited to announce. In addition to the usual game re-caps, player updates, and all our usual coverage, this year Kyle, Stripe, and myself will have press credentials for the Griffins! We’ll be able to provide even more in depth information and perspectives along with players and coach interviews. We’ll get to as many games as we can and work to help you get to know the players better.

This is a very exciting time to be a Griffins fan, with so many great prospects currently there who are almost ready to kick down the door to the NHL, there’s whole lot to look forward to. The Griffins don’t currently receive the media coverage they deserve, and the perspective and experiences of the players as they make their journey to the NHL is something we want to share with the hockey world. The new incoming rookies Andreas Athanasiou, Mattias Backman, and Anthony Mantha, will combined with returning studs such as Teemu Pulkkinen, Xaver Ouellet, Ryan Sproul, Alexey Marchenko, Nick Jensen, Mitch Callahan, Petr Mrazek, and the rest of the Pesky Griffs, to create what should be an exciting season.

This is a really exciting opportunity and to make the most of it, we’re looking for your feedback and suggestions. What kind of coverage would you like to see? Which players are you most interested in getting to know better? Do you want to know more about the player personalities, dynamics in the dressing room, life away from the rink, the lighter side of the guys? Give us all your suggestions and requests and we’ll do our best to get the answers and information you’re interested in.

The Griffins home opener is October 10th, and Kyle will have our media coverage, I’ll be in the stands to provide my analysis and reaction, and Stripe will have his usual fantastic game recap. Getting to games isn’t always easy or possible when living a few hours away, but between the three of us, we’ll get to as many games as possible to talk to the players and coaches.

This is a big opportunity for the WIIM community (yes, I mean you), and I’m confident I speak for us all when I say we’re very excited to take this next step in Griffins (and future Red Wings) coverage. So let us know, both now and throughout the season, what you’re interested in.

Let’s Go Griffins!
