This recall is an answer to Brendan Smith being a silly boy. Smith got into a tussle last night and apparently had messed up his hand, and it got infected. I'm pretty surprised to see how quickly the infection took action.. But Pleiness had reported this earlier, stating he could possibly meet back up with the team in Toronto, but the organization has placed Smith on "Seven Day IR." Seven days is the IR minimum, so we won't be seeing Smitty again until Tuesday, at the very earliest.

The Red Wings have six defensemen they can roll out even with Smith down, but it's smarter to have seven just in case. It also shows that Jakub Kindl could either seriously be in the doghouse, or he could be on his way out of Detroit somehow. Still waiting for a report on Kindl, and just what the hell is going on there. Mike Babcock apparently has told the diggers that he won't be talking about it. So, discuss that as you please. But hey, at least we have the guy who should have made this team from the get-go for the next week at the very least. Hell yeah. Excited to have Xavier back.
