Analysis:
The nephew of former NHLer Robert Reichel, Lukas is a winger who is more quick than fast on his skates but still has enough straight line speed to put pressure on a defense and has the skills to be dangerous once he gets into he gets into the offensive zone. He is a good passer and has a quality wrist shot to go along with an ability to work in tight spaces and is decisive with the puck. The two biggest knocks on him right now are his defensive play and his strength. At 6 feet even but only 172 lbs he does not have the strength to keep from getting knocked off the puck at times. He has not really shown a lot in his own end yet but Berlin did not really ask a lot of him defensively this past season either. There does not appear to be any indications of a bad motor so it is fair to assume that both of those issues can easily be addressed by the team that drafts him and turn him into a very good NHL winger.
Most draft pundits have him as a late first/top of the second round prospect so while he is obviously not in play for Detroit at #4 he could be a potential pick with one of their three second round picks, especially if he is still on the board at #45.
NHL Comparison: Gustav Nyquist
