Game Day Updates: Coyotes at Red Wings

The Wings lines from the Morning Skate still stand.

Patrick Eaves should be available to make his return to the lineup on October 26th, and Jonas Gustavsson thinks he’s a few days away from being cleared to play. –per Ansar Khan Gustavsson coming off IR just means Petr Mrazek is sent back to Grand Rapids and there’s no roster issue. However when Patrick Eaves comes off LTIR, someone on the roster will have to be removed.

The NHL Network posted two teaser videos of their interview with Jimmy Howard that will air tonight at 5pm on NHL Live. There’s a Preview Video and a Bonus Preview Video

You can watch the full post-practice Mike Babcock interview here, but basically he said that with 3 games in 4 nights, the team wasn’t able to practice as much as he would have liked, but they’ve had time to practice much more with 4 days off. The team needs to get started on time tonight, and in practice they focused a lot of being harder and heavier because he said the team played too light in the first three games.

Today is Shane Doan’s birthday, Henrik Zetterberg’s was yesterday. Coincidence? I think not! Just another example of Doan trying to be as awesome as Hank and coming up a day late and a dollar short.

And did you know that Mike Babcock has the most wins as a head coach in the NHL since the 2002-2003 season among active coaches with 447? Dave Tippett has the second most with 428. You do now!

Here’s the projected Coyotes lineup. With Paul Bissonnett returning from suspension, I’m not sure yet if he’ll play tonight, and if he does, who will sit.
