The Red Wings (0-1-0) continue their trek through the Sunshine State with a matchup in Sunrise against the Panthers (1-0-0).
Four straight unanswered goals, aided by Detroit penalties, spoiled the season opener in Tampa Bay. One game seems to be enough evidence for coach Jeff Blashill to tinker with the lineup, as three of the four offensive lines and two defensive pairings have changed from opening night. Steve Ott has been removed from the lineup entirely for Andreas Athanasiou.
Florida opened the season with a 2-1 win over the New Jersey Devils in overtime. In the offseason, the Panthers remodeled their defense adding Keith Yandle, Mark Pysyk, and Jason Demers to help out veteran goalie Roberto Luongo.
The Panthers will be without Nick Bjugstad (broken hand) and Jonathan Huberdeau (achilles).
