Lightning blog: Raw Charge

Best way to follow Valentine’s Day? Filling yourself with that sweet, delicious HATE. Bring on the Lightning!

The Red Wings have won their last two games, although the Capitals game barely counts after the soul-crushing third period.  But they bounced back against the Ducks and played a more consistent game, a little drama giving up a goal in the third, but they held on to win.

The Lightning haven’t had the best start to 2018 including losing their last two games, to the Maple Leafs and Sabres respectively. And that’s the Sabres WITHOUT Jack Eichel. So they’ll be looking for redemption by beating up on the Red Wings – I expect at least one real fight and many scrums around the net.

It was reported yesterday that Jimmy would be in net tonight, he had a great game against the Ducks, stopping 32 of 33 shots, and helping the Wings hold onto the lead to win in regulation.  On the flip side, the Wings only managed 16 shots on goal last game, and while 2 of them went in that’s still not good.

We haven’t beaten the Lightning since…we were in the playoffs. Seriously? Yuck. Tonight we try to prevent a series sweep by the Lightning for the second season in a row. Let’s go get ‘em!

P.S.  Is it possible for someone to start the game playing for the Red Wings and then get traded and come out for the third playing for the Lightning? Probably not, but it would be funny.
