Just because the Wings don’t have a game tonight didn’t stop chaos from ensuing in practice today.
I’m going to lead off with my favorite news, because I don’t want to try to contain myself any longer…
Eaves says as of now he’s in Wednesday against Vancouver.

EAVES IS BACK, Â BITCHES!!!
Mike Babcock confirmed that Eaves is in for Wednesday night.
With Eaves coming off LTIR, Helm still on LTIR, and Ericsson on IR, the Wings currently sit at the 23 man roster limit.
Drew Miller left practice early and Babcock said he has the flu.
Johan Franzen also left practice early and has been ruled out for Wednesday’s game against Vancouver. No word yet on what the injury is.
With Franzen out, Luke Glendening was recalled from Grand Rapids.
There’s also this:
Weiss appears to have been demoted to fourth line. He’s skating with Tootoo and Ssmuelsson.

But with Miller leaving practice early, Weiss could have been just subbing on that line.
Then this came along:
Andersson is with Bertuzzi and Eaves; Weiss skating with Tootoo and Samuelsson, who might be subbing for Miller. Helm working in on top 6.

Darren Helm still isn’t ready, though he did practice with the top 6 today.
To summarize:
Miller out sick, Franzen out for Wednesday, Helm not ready yet, Eaves in for Wendesday, Glendening in for Wednesday, and who the Frk knows what the lines will be.
The practice lines were:
Forwards | ||
Daniel Cleary | Pavel Datsyuk | Tomas Tatar |
Johan Franzen ? | Henrik Zetterberg ? | Daniel Alfredsson ? |
Patrick Eaves | Joakim Andersson | Todd Bertuzzi |
Jordin Tootoo | Stephen Weiss | Mikael Samuelsson |
There was no word on what the 2nd line was in practice, but I’m going to assume it was Zetterberg, Alfredsson, and Mule before he left. Maybe Abdelkader subbed when Franzen left? Who knows.
The Wings plan to travel to Vancouver with 6 defensemen and rub all their lucky charms in the hopes that everyone stays healthy.
