Pavel Datsyuk Out For 2 to 4 Weeks with Shoulder Injury

SHIT.

At least we can laugh at the inconsistency from our beat writers. Seriously, the folks who always seem to write the same exact thing day-in and day-out report different timeframes for Pavel Datsyuk’s shoulder injury. Good on ya, diggers. (not)

So yeah, this sucks a lot of ass. I knew when Rob Scuderi threw the hit and Pavel walked down the tunnel something bad was going to happen. I know we all laugh and joke about it, but this season really isn’t off to a great start from what we had last year. We’ve lost our top prospect, and our top center. What scares me most is how bad the reporting usually is on these things, and the looming thought of seeing an injury update on Pavel and Anthony Mantha three weeks from now that extends the initial timeframe of their recoveries.

The 2014-2015 season is really shaping up. Derek Stepan, Jordan Staal, Pavel Datsyuk, Claude Giroux, the list keeps on growing. All of these players are injured. *fart noise*

Thankfully for the Red Wings, barring another injury (knock on wood), we have a lot of depth up front. Henrik Zetterberg can take on the first line center duties and that will make some room for a possible tenure for a prospect like Teemu Pulkkinen.

Trying to stay positive here.. But it’s not an easy task. Let’s just hope this doesn’t become a trend… Again.
