- Hockey returned to Winnipeg yesterday, and the hockey world is still shaking off the effects of the party. The team had multiple ceremonies to usher in a new era of Jets hockey, including a heart felt ceremony honoring Rick Rypien who never played a game with the franchise, but died just weeks after signing a contract with the team. - Blair Betts was sent back to Philadelphia yesterday after being claimed from waivers by the Montreal Canadiens due to injury. It’ll be interesting to see if the Flyers are punished for this or not; unless I am rusty, it is against CBA rules to send a player through waivers who is injured, and he must instead be placed on IR until he has healed.
