Wings’ Sheahan moving on from last season’s woes – The Detroit News
Few players on the Red Wings were as pleased to forget about last season as forward Riley Sheahan. Kulfan writes up a friendly blurb about him and Sheahan talks about how he lost some weight trying to work on his speed a bit. Since he’s never played like a bruiser anyway, it’s a good change. Now we just need to get him to use his shot a lot more.

Very small-scale stuff here, but this is the kind of hockey story that’s fun. Cameras caught Jake DeBrusk’s dad Louie beaming with pride at his son’s first NHL goal. As a dad it makes me happy to see, but also kind of reminds me of when Tatar scored after his father passed and pointed skyward. Fathers & sons… what can I say?
