Aaron Rome of the Vancouver Canucks might be hearing from Mr Shanahan after this hit on Devante Smith-Pelly. Personally, I think the five-and-a-game was enough, but it’s been a while since we’ve seen a Shanaban, and I bet Shanny is getting itchy with his “suspension finger”. [Puck Daddy]

A sincere congratulations to the Nashville Predators, who will play the 1000th game in franchise history tonight against the Montreal Canadiens. This also marks Barry Trotz’ 1000th game as their coach. A stat that’s even more insane? Scotty Bowman had over 1000 wins as an NHL coach. [On the Forecheck]
