We have our first rematch of the season! It feels like ages since we played the Bruins, it must have been at least 7 days ago… we were all so much younger then…
Last time, we visited TD Garden and the result was… less than appeasing. The Bruins come to our barn this time, and they’re gonna look a LITTLE different thanks to some intelligent decisions by the leader of their defense. Honestly, they’re lucky they aren’t missing their captain too after that can-opener on Timothy Liljegren.

Chiarot-Petry Holl
Husso expected to start tomorrow. Reimer/Lyon
So Rasmussen moves to center and Veleno on the wing.
Per Ansar, practice yesterday featured Veleno all the way up as 2RW, Holl is in the 7D hole, and Husso will start. This is definitely a Husso game, but those lines are absolutely choices Lalonde can make.
I’m behind the Veleno move. Something needs to be done to spark the 2nd line, and Joey V has been a man on fire thru the last 5-ish games (shhhh we’re pretending the Florida game never happened). As for Holl, I’d personally rather sit Petry but there’s a reason Lalonde is coach and I’m not… Fun fact: Did you know Jeff Petry is the son of former Tigers pitcher Dan Petry? Ha! Ha ha! Hahaha I swear if I hear that one more time my brain is gonna turn into a Hot N Ready.
Keys To The Game
Weaponize Halos. If Brad Marchand is going to exist, the team needs to find a way to make that his problem. We can’t play the “holier than thou” game though, especially if refs are swallowing whistles. Be angels when they’re watching. Whack ‘em with your halo when they aren’t.
Play Like You’re Up A Man. The Powerplay has been, frankly, flat for a few games now. We still pulled out that Islanders win, but the Wings are absolutely more dangerous when the man-advantage is connecting. Find a way to make it work, stop trying to be too cute, and make the Bruins regret taking meathead penalties.
I’m Not Bad, But 2 Points Is 2 Points. I don’t want to go so far as to call any game in early November a Must Win, but some of these are starting to feel like Need To Win games. 2 points against a divisional opponent who’s also on top of the entire league right now would be a good way to start righting the ship. Find a way, boys.
