Gotta keep an eye on the top-six battle. The Devils are stacked at the top, meaning the Wings will have their work cut out for them. The keys to success are winning the turnover battle and staying out of the box — sounds simple enough. I wonder if coaching will try to create mismatches and get Larkin’s line deployed against some of NJD’s bottom-six.
A reminder that Detroit’s plan was to carry 12 forwards, seven defensemen and three goalies into the season opener.
