Round 2… FIGHT!
After dropping a 4-3 bout in Washington on Thursday, the Caps are coming to The Dough-Joe for the end-cap of our pre-season home-and-home. Detroit is sending out their A-version of the pre-season split squad:

According to the Wings’ own primer for tonight’s game, Chiarot is back with the team. Obviously he’s not playing tonight, but I hope he had sufficient time with his family and loved ones.
Also absent from the roster tonight are any of Lyon, Reimer, or Bednar. The battle for back-up goalie will continue another night, but I really wonder if someone could be on the move given the situation in Tampa and Yzerman’s obvious connections to that organization.
On the ice tonight, I know lots of eyes will be on #29 Nate Danielson. He’s shown great vision thru the Prospect Tournament and the pre-season so far, and conceivably could make a case for staying with the big club instead of going back to the Wheat Kings out west. It’s a crowded roster already though, and I’m scared to think who could be pushed out if Danielson forces Yzerman’s hand. Still, I’m rooting for him to have a strong showing tonight against what is likely to be the Caps’ B-squad.
