KuklasKorner : The Malik Report : Red Wings overnight report: wanting to make a deal is one thing, and actually making one is another
George has everything you need to know about the Wings’ trade deadline targets. Hopefully your expectations are not too high. We’ve heard a lot about the crazy prices for players. It will be interesting to see if this year’s deadline is a dud.

Red Wings’ Jonathan Ericsson out a month with broken wrist | Detroit Free Press | freep.com
Thankfully the Wings added Kyle Quincey last week. Ericsson should be back by the end of March or early April. It’s not a HUGE loss for the Wings’ D, but it would have been real nice to have Ericsson and Quincey get some time to get comfortable with each other.

Deadline Needs: Scoring or Grit? | February
I’d vote for both if I could. The price for scoring will be crazy. The price for grit will also be crazy. I’ve long supported the idea of getting Paul Gaustad, but I bet the price is too high. Maybe Travis Moen? Would not be shocked to see Samuel Pahlsson from the Blue Jackets head north.

It’s got to start in the Wings own zone. Everything else will work out after that.

Bethann Salei: Her heart goes on | The Orange County Register
A tough read on the widow of former Red Wings defenseman Ruslan Salei.

The Sharks are struggling too. They’ve already surrender the Pacific Division lead to the Coyotes and their fan base might need to a worry a little bit too. Makes one wonder if they’ll blow it up for Rich Nash this afternoon.

Ottawa gets net insurance by acquiring Ben Bishop from St. Louis | Puck Daddy – Yahoo! Sports
The Blues made a minor deal yesterday by sending goalie Ben Bishop to the Senators. They were most likely going to lose him in the offseason so it’s a good deal for the Blues.

Just a small programming reminder…no podcast this morning. We’ll be recording tonight so we can get our reactions to the trade deadline and any moves the Wings make. It will be posted early tomorrow morning.

Let’s Go Red Wings.
