Red Wings ‘goalie of the future’ Filip Larsson prepares for Grand Rapids | MLive
“I played good at every level the last three years, so I think to get that next step is just going to be fun and I’m ready to take that,” Larsson said.
“I didn’t expect anything when I got to the U.S., so maybe it’s gone pretty fast, but I felt good every game. I feel like I could take every step that I’ve been taking.”
The Wings could use a legit goalie of the future. Both Jimmy Howard and Jonathan Bernier are up there in age and likely won’t be around by the time Detroit is contending again. It would help tremendously if Filip Larsson was able to be the man and take the reigns in a year or two.
