Always nice to get updates on the prospects. I had actually totally forgotten that Mathurin essentially lost a season. It seems like he’s good to go though, given that he snuck in 11 playoff games after the injury.

This seems a lot like hiring a kid’s dad so you can give him extra perks without actually giving the kid extra perks. Not that McDavid is a kid or Jackson is his dad, or that there’s anything fishy or rules being circumvented as all parties involved are grown adults who are (theoretically) reasonable and responsible. It’s just… this seems like a move you pull when you’re worried that you need to pull it.
It’s official, the Bruins are now out both their #1 AND #2 centers. I think Pius Suter is still out there if they can make some salary cap room…
