In Red Wings Land
Red Wings continue due diligence for key draft at Scouting Combine | MLive
The article has some more insight on what the Red Wings are doing in Buffalo this week, but this little tidbit popped out to me:
Possibilities at No. 6 for Detroit include defensemen Evan Bouchard (6-2, 183; London, OHL) and Noah Dobson (6-3, 180; Acadie-Bathurst, QMJHL) and center Jasperi Kotkaniemi (6-2, 188; Assat, Finland).
Detroit’s top needs are an offensive-minded right-shooting defenseman with decent size, like Bouchard or Dobson, or a creative center, like Kotkaniemi.
Evan Bouchard at #6? That’s not out of the question, but Noah Dobson? Jasper Kotkaniemi? No thanks. Not at sixth overall, especially if Quinn Hughes is still available. Nope. If the Red Wings decide to trade back a few picks and take one of those two players, I would be cool with that.
I can’t imagine Khan(!) just throws out those names randomly. Probably safe to guess he knows a thing or two that we don’t. Last year, Ken Holland & co went off the board a little bit and took Michael Rasmussen with the 9th pick instead of a falling Gabe Vilardi. Will the Red Wings surprise us again this year?

NHL lawyer requested dementia warning be removed from concussion poster | TSN
Part two of TSN’s NHL Under Oath series taking a look at the league’s dealings with concussions and CTE. The tweet below with a bit of a preview. One word: yikes.
As NHL & NHLPA drafted a concussion warning poster, NHL medical consultant Dr. Willem Meeuwisse emailed NHL lawyer Julie Grand a mock version of a poster “for a good laugh.”
The mock poster read:
