Svechnikov eyes roster spot with Red Wings – NHL.com
So far from what I’ve seen in Traverse City, Svechnikov isn’t tearing up the scoresheet, but the way he’s playing is very mature. I’ve noticed a bunch of plays where he’s made a really smart creative pass to a guy who just wasn’t quite on the same level with where he should have been. I like the kid’s attitude and hustle. From the article:
“I want to be a Red Wing,” said Svechnikov, who was taken by Detroit with the No. 19 pick in the 2015 NHL Draft. “I don’t want to just make the team. I want to make it better, and I’m just trying to find a way to make that possible. So, I’m going to go out there [in camp] and just try to do my best. If I can make the team better, I could have a chance [to make the team].”

Dear Vancouver | By Daniel Sedin and Henrik Sedin – The Players’ Tribune
Interesting read from the twins in Vancouver confirming that they don’t want to go anywhere but the Canucks and talking about their past and future. These players are a real interesting case of guys who have played extremely well, but will have their records looked at through the dual lenses of being European and never having won a cup. They really are great guys though.

Blackhawks’ Drew Miller: Inks PTO – CBSSports.com
Listen, we’re all happy that the Wings didn’t bring Drew Miller back because it was time for him to go, but I want to take this opportunity to remind everybody that I absolutely adored Drew Miller and am really positively hoping that he turns this PTO with the Blackhawks into a contract with a team that isn’t disgusting to think about.
