It is the dumbest thing in the sports world that guys like Dylan James and Trey Augustine can make as much money as they want (theoretically) marketing their name, image, and likeness as athletes… but they can’t attend the Prospect Tournament because of archaic rules about who’s allowed to pay for stuff and buy them things. I know this is an important showcase for some of the free agent invitees, but I’d rather see Red Savage out there. Make it happen, NCAA.

In the midst of the Prospect Tournament roster and announcements for several player contract extensions, this slipped out into the news stream and deserves to not get buried. The Wings have a fanbase that covers a lot of territory – if there are any fans reading this out in Vancouver, please stop by and give a little time, energy, and maybe some money to the cause Stecher is raising awareness for.
