Florida is currently ahead of Ottawa in the standings (same points total, one game in hand). They’re probably not going to climb into playoff contention, but this isn’t a team that’s going to have as many bingo balls in the draft lottery. Maybe that’s a bad thing for them.
They’re good defensively though. They don’t score very much, but this Florida team is 8th in the league for goals against/game. They have three people leading them in points so far with 12. The Red Wings have seven players with more points than that. Nick Bjugstad has eight goals. Justin Abdelkader has seven. He’s fourth on the team.
The Panthers played last night and lost 2-1 in Columbus. They’re not going to be happy about that. Which Red Wings team will we see tonight? Are we going to get the one that plays down to teams like this or are we getting the Red Wings who have suddenly remembered how to drop the skate on the neck?
Have fun in the comments and let’s go Red Wings.
