The Wings are rolling lately, but have had a rare two days off since their last game. Toronto played last night and now sits six points behind the Wings with a game in hand. The Leafs have a good goal differential and are still showing every indication that they’re a pretty ok team held back by a lot of bad decisions made at and above the player level in the organization.
These teams have already played three games this season and the record for Detroit is at 2-1-0 (one win in OT leaves the Leafs’ record at 1-1-1). The last loss was embarrassing for a Wings team that looked to have the game in hand until they gave up a shorthanded breakaway for the game-winner. Things fell apart from there.
Let’s see how they put it together tonight. Have fun in the comments and let’s go Red Wings.
