Hello and welcome to our first post-Tomas Tatar episode of WIIM Radio. Peter and I jumped on the ol’ Blogtalk Radio and fired up a reaction podcast to Monday’s trade deadline dealings. Here’s what we got up to:
The deals the Wings did (and didn’t) make: Tatar and Mrazek moved on but Green, Glendening, Nyquist, Helm, Abdelkader, Ouellet, and everybody else is still around. You’ll get our reactions to how things went down.
Where do the Wings go from here: We talk about what the Wings ought to be doing for the rest of the season and how they should be preparing for draft time.
Around the League: Winners and losers from the big trade day, as the Bolts look hard to beat, but the Pens and Bruins also helped out their depth a bunch… and that’s just in the East! Who are the biggest contenders and why did some of the teams go eerily quiet?
The Olympics: The men’s tourney delivered on the promise of variance while the women’s tourney delivered on the promise of great hockey. We talked through our feelings on watching the Pyeongchang games (or not).
Positivity Corner: Lots to look forward to in the coming days for Wings fans and we’ll make sure we have a bright outlook!
Looking Ahead: The Wings have six games coming in the next two weeks. We’ll take a look at what’s coming up.
