Oh, the Red Wings. If we thought last year was bad, well this year hasn’t been much better. They currently sit 6th worst in the NHL (Although, please give me Dahlin) and for us fans, it’s really the excitement of the trade deadline keeping us afloat. After getting screwed at the end of the game vs. the Panthers, the Red Wings dropped their last game vs. the Bruins in a lackluster performance at LCA. They head to the east coast for the first of two games on this road trip looking to build any kind of momentum they can.
Meanwhile, the Islanders currently sit 9th in the Eastern Conference. However, they are currently tied with the Blue Jackets for the final spot at 58 points, but have played two more games than Columbus. Matthew Barzal has been one of the stories of the year, as the rookie has been on fire with 53 points in 54 games this year. The Islanders come in desperate for points as the trade deadline nears, so expect their best game tonight at the Barclays Center.
